Silly statement by first reviewer since it included nothing about the actual product except the reviewers total lack of common sense and respect for these reviews. I felt it necessary to even out the bad review. I too don't own this and am looking to buy a net, probably a Callaway because of their history of selling good quality products most of the time. Unless I can find reviews, I must depend on Callaway's reputation. When I purchase, I will certainly post a comprehensive review of whatever I do buy.

Golf Dads: Fathers, Sons, and the Greatest Game is a terrific book that I found easy to read and interesting in its exploration of the complexity of relationships of fathers and sons and how golf affects communication between generations. I am not a golf enthusiast but I loved Curt Sampson's style of writing and illuminating content. The stories of fathers and sons / daughters is a book well worth reading. I would highly recommend this book.

This "book" is inane. If there were negative stars I would give it a negative 5. How this got published I have no idea, except in someone's garage. The spiral binding was weird, but weirder was the fact that most of the pages contain no more than a dozen words on them and the pages are only printed on one side. This is a flip chart of not that funny comedy for a bad stand up act. Anyone who has golfed for any length of time has heard most if not all of these jokes on the links. Ball dropping trousers - how original. I'm not sure who all these people are who have submitted rave reviews as "letters to the publisher" but I suspect they are the editor and the authors extended family puffing up the ranking. Certainly no modestly intelligent reader could have enjoyed this book. It's just no possible. I doubt you will find this book in a bookstore because no one who sees it would buy it - only suckers online. I would try and sell this at a garage sale but in good faith I could't let someone buy it, and I doubt anyone would anyway having leafed through it. The fact this sells for "Used and New" for 1 cent says it all, except someone should give you the penny as a gift for taking it off them.

The review by Fernando L. Sosa "periososa" was both unfair and inaccurate. This book is both interesting and helpful. It begins with a history and explanation of the yips and then differentiates between ordinary mechanical setup problems and true nervous yips. This is the only book to my knowledge that goes beyond a simple paragraph or page explanation in other books. I started golf forty years ago with horrible driver yips which took me thirty years to manage. Then, I developed chipping and putting yips. This book has been a great help identifying and offering typical approaches to manage your yips. I switched to a belly putter and a cross-handed grip and now I only have a rare twitch at contact with the ball that drives the ball to the left. I have a feeling that the critical reviewer wanted a simple, one paragraph, permanent solution to his problem. As sport psychologists and philosophers suggest, the answer lies within you; you already have the cure. Hank Haney gives you the insight and techniques to help you help yourself.

Don't waste your money on this piece of junk. It fell apart after 3 days, with the poles splitting. From what I understand, this happens to the majority of people unlucky enough to have purchased this item. It would have been great if the craftmanship and materials weren't so shoddy. Steer clear.

I have read the book cover to cover twice now and get something new out of it each time. It was very helpful to correct my grip and gaining more distance out of my clubs. It was concise when it describes setup and address. Both of these things helped my game. I have only been playing two years but already have two holes in one to my credit. I would highly recommend this book to all women beginner's to the game or individuals that want to improve their bunker play or their short game.

I picked this book because of it's amazing photo images demonstrating the moves, because of its great descriptions and it was a paperback and easy to toss into my gym bag for quick reading during workouts. Not expensive either which is a plus. If you are picking up the game this is a great tool.

Very interesting book. So many details about each of the nine shots from the first one (Sarazen in 1935) to the last one -- the chip by Tiger at the Masters when you saw the swoosh on the ball before it dropped. I am not a low-handicapper, but I do love golf and know the sport very well. This book kept my interest from page-1. He writes about not only the stars, but all the great characters of the game too. Very entertaining.

Whether you play golf or not, you will think this book is funny. Like all forms of human endeavor where a score is kept, some people will do anything to win. It starts with the following four points: 1) Everyone cheats. 2) Anyone who says that they don't cheat is a liar and a cheat. 3) The more expensive a player's equipment, the more he cheats. 4) Cheating is not dirty or immoral - it's part of the game. From this, there are "sound" pointers that will allow you to go head-to-head with the best of them. Ways to distract your opponent(s) and subtlety move your ball to a better position are demonstrated with text and diagrams. In only a few pages, you can go from defeat to victory without having to take expensive lessons, practice hard or buy new equipment. Well worth the price of the book.

I wasn't sure about this thing when I ordered it. When viewed online, it appeared to be something that would arrive and have a large margin of error with regard to actual usability and quality. As I purchased this as a present, I was happily surprised to see that it surpassed my expectations in both the functionality and construction departments. And while the return track doesn't remain snapped together completely and the ball rolling on the track is a bit noisy, the ball-returning-to-the-same-spot action depicted in the picture shown online actually does happen with a good degree consistency (even when the track junctions pop up a bit) so I am giving the product a 4 out of 5 stars. I will buy this item again if I ever need to purchase another golf-related gift.

I've been playing golf for about 4 years now and found this book one that might be enjoyed by someone who is just starting out. It's a basic instruction manual with lots of pretty color pictures and a nice layout. Unfortunately the content is mundane with nothing to distinguish itself from some many other books of this type that have preceeded it. I think I'm being generous giving it a 3. Rather than reading a complete rehash of what's already been done a thousand times before I'd recommend that you get yourself anything written by David Leadbetter, Jim Mclean, Jack Nichlaus or Gary Player. I basically just turned the pages, went through the book once and found myself thoroughly disappointed thinking - nothing new here. Oh, least I forget Tiger Woods has a book I believe it's called How I Play Golf - this would be another much better choice.

I purchased the Putting Bible after reading the excellent Short Game Bible by Peltz. I was disapointed by the Putting Game Bible and feel that it was written to capitolize on his very successful Short Game Bible. The book did not really add anything to my knowledge of putting and seemed wordy as if Peltz was trying to find ways to fill a book.

Dave Pelz is a scientist who has studied the art of putting. I don't know if reading this book will improve my putting; that has yet to be proven. The text is well written. There are abundant illustrations and the quality of the paper, the binding, the illustrations and photographs are excellent. This is not the kind of book one reads in an evening. There are practical exercises, and one must go to the green and apply what has been read. It is a joy to read, and I have a better understanding of why I am missing those putts. It is my hope with persistence I will improve my game, but lets face it ... the ultimate test is one that involves athletic ability, perception, and the ability to convert intellectual understanding into action.

Don Wade and his book publisher should have noted the Masters ISN'T played on the first Sunday in April. In fact, all Masters played since 1997(I didn't go back further) has ended on the 2nd Sunday in April. Golf writers seldom can be bothered to do the most elementary of research. Look at Johnny Miller's book 'I call the shots' for a perfect example. We learn there Ed Fiori beat Tiger Woods in a playoff. It never happened!

There's one part of the golf game that's practically impossible to teach: the feeling of the proper release. It simply is not an intuitive skill. And while it's possible to tell people how to do it, and even show them how to do it, many pros and instructors wish they could teach the way the perfect swing should feel. Now they can! In the majority of good golf swings, the right elbow is tucked in close to the side of the body during the downswing, and stays there partially through impact. Also, the wrists stay hinged, which ties in the action of the right side with the hit. If you are looking for a biography about Payne Stewart, this is not it. There is a great deal of information about his death, memorial service, and his faith but very little about Payne. Do we really need to know what body parts were recovered or how much mail the church received after the service? If you are not interested in how the writer thinks faith transformed Payne as a person, pass this one by.

If old enough, you remember where you were when President Kennedy was assassinated. If a golf fan, you remember where you were when Payne Stewart died. I was in a restaurant having lunch with a couple of other guys. We paid only occasional attention to reports on the television behind the bar. A Lear jet was off course and expected to crash. Sadly, we soon would learn its occupants. If you read no other chapter in this excellent account of Payne Stewart's life, read the one detailing how the golfer's friends and associates learned the bad news. It's a dramatic piece of writing by Larry Guest. And it creates a bond between any reader who remembers that day and the golfer's friends in the book who talk about it. In another memorable chapter, Guest's detailed reporting makes you feel as if you're right in the aircraft during its deadly, and as yet unexplained, flight from Florida to a midwestern cornfield. This book would be a good read even for people who are not golf fans. If you do follow golf, it's a must read. If you were a Payne Stewart fan, you should have already read it.
